It was an absolute pleasure to work on Doctor Who during a landmark year. My work below includes a fully illustrated large-scale puppet theatre design, vintage toy concepts for the Toymaker's shop, and building Rose's world of illustrations and sketchbooks for her shed.

A fully designed puppet theatre for the third special "The Giggle". This design work took weeks of sketches, referencing and mockups before I liaised with local printers to have the artwork printed in 30+ separate sections. The artwork was pasted up by our team of scenic artists onto large-scale constructed backing boards. I designed the large-scale puppet theatre arch, and the smaller theatre that Neil Patrick Harris stands upon to perform his puppet show.
Close-up details from the puppet theatre - showing the construction process of each separate curtain layer, and artwork detail photos once printed to scale.
A selection of posters designed for our 1920s London Soho street location in "The Giggle". I helped to paste these up on the walls at our filming location.
Posters dressed on location outside Mr Emporium's Toy Store.
Mockup options for the Keep Out sign on Rose's Shed in the first special, "The Star Beast".
The final sign as seen in "The Star Beast".
Dressing details in Rose's Shed, as seen in the first special, "The Star Beast". I created digital and traditional sketches that were dressed on set.
Rose made soft plushie toys in her shed that were inspired by Doctor Who monsters. I drew several mockup options and sketches for her character, as if she were drawing her own ideas for the toys.
Sketchbook options for Rose's Shed in "The Star Beast". I crafted the covers of these sketchbooks, drawing inspiration from my own experiences of being Rose's age in school / college and customising my own sketchbook covers.
Dressing details that were dressed in Donna Noble's house. Including Rose's school text books, a tuna steak label for Sylvia's tuna madras recipe, and a holographic phone case graphic created from Rose's plushie sketches.
1920s toys and board game packaging, dressed into the Toymaker's shop set in the third special, "The Giggle".
A rather creepy-looking hobby horse, requested by our set decorating department for dressing in the Toymaker's shop. I drew a mockup for reference, and our scenic artists painted the artwork by hand.
1920s alphabet block designs for dressing in the Toymaker's shop set, in the third special "The Giggle". I also included a cheeky reference to the Pandorica (a Matt Smith era episode).
The full set of alphabet blocks.
More subtle dressing options for the Toymaker's shop in "The Giggle" - including an unsettling Ouija Board design. I used German here as the Toymaker ridicules the Doctor often in a German accent.
Dressing graphics for the Toymaker's shop - including a smaller scale model of the Toymaker's puppet theatre, a circular drum design for a teddy bear, and a Little Red Riding Hood inspired illustration.
Vintage signage designs for the Toymaker's shop in "The Giggle" - including price tags which featured an illustration of the original Toymaker from the 1966 serial "The Celestial Toymaker".
Paper doll designs for use as background dressing in the Toymaker's shop. A good chance to throw in another Doctor Who reference, so I drew them as Matt Smith era companions Amy and Rory.
Chalkboard mockups for a school room in the Toymaker's domain, seen in the third special "The Giggle". A couple of mockup options were offered and I drew the final design by hand.
Looter packaging for the riot scene at the start of the third anniversary special, "The Giggle".
